I am a software developer and agile coach at andrena objects ag, a software company in
Karlsruhe, Germany.
Previously I was development lead in customer projects
and on software products at
Innoopract, a German software company that is focused on the Open
Source platform Eclipse.
Among other things, I was the chief architect of Yoxos, the Eclipse distribution. I have been
specializing in Eclipse Plug-In development (both IDE and RCP) for more
than eight years, and have published articles in developer journals and
given conference talks on the topic (some of these are online in the Papers section). I also worked for a
time at Nero, as a process
manager and project management coach, much with focus on agile software
development practices.

In addition to my work centered around Eclipse and Java, I have
been interested in functional programming, especially the Haskell programming language for a number of
years, and I have been active in Open Source projects in that area (there
are links to each of these projects on the Projects page).
I studied various subjects, including philosophy, computer
science, literature and music (composition) at several universities in
Germany, including Jena University, Hagen University and the Liszt School
of Music in Weimar. (Not all of these studies were aimed at a formal
degree.) I hold an A-grade Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Literature.
